As much as I hope that you and those you care about have avoided contracting COVID-19, I know that’s unlikely. I’ve certainly been up close and personal with the virus, say no more. And though we’re making great strides with vaccinations in countries such as the US and UK, we know that herd immunity on a global basis is a long way off.
All to say that I believe that masks will continue to be an essential part of our lives for the foreseeable future. This is certainly the case for our courageous healthcare professionals and frontline workers. So why not have a mask for everyone that is not only safe but actually comfortable to wear for long periods of time if need be? One that seals properly, keeps out dangerous particles and — bonus points — doesn’t fog up your glasses?
Smarter mask design
The team at Smart Safe Science (or 3S) has cracked this code with an innovative design that features proprietary filtration technology. With decades of experience providing tech solutions for companies like Research In Motion (RIM, now known as BlackBerry Limited), 3S has been producing these amazing masks since last year in their 22,000 square foot facility in Muskoka, Ontario. The Government of Ontario quickly recognized the potential of the design and the business in awarding 3S a $2-million grant to help it achieve its full capacity.
